This incredibly unique course is intentionally all short holes. The idea is to allow for people to get in practice for perfecting those medium to long putting shots. The course is very beginner friendly and plays quickly! Don’t have time for a full round at a larger course? Want to dial in that long putt that never seems to drop? Want to introduce your family, friends, kids, etc to the sport? Then this course is ideal!

IMPORTANT!:

This course is an object (aka rogue) course in the forest near Inn at the 7th Mountain.

See directions below. We will depart Inn at the 7th Mountain parking lot at ~12:45 PM to Rocktropolis for folks who want to carpool or follow us over to the parking area in the forest. Some of else will play a warm-up round around noon at the 7th Mountain course.

This fun, but physically demanding course plays along a scenic rocky cliff band and then drops into a deep canyon before climbing back out again. Rocktropolis is longer (average hole 300 feet) and slightly more punishing than some of the other forest courses in Bend, but it still offers plenty of birdie and ace-run opportunities for intermediate players. Most holes offer multiple throwing lanes with the preferred/easiest routes being almost evenly divided between RHBH hyzer (7), anhyzer (6), and flex/straight (5) shots. When the cans appear to be straight in front of you, that's usually not the preferred route.

There are no default "mandos" (unless your group chooses otherwise) so look left and right and pick your best route.

Park in the chain-up area on the north side of Cascade Lakes highway about 0.3 miles past the 10-mile marker. Look for a reflective sign marker painted orange with the Rocktropolis sticker.

The first tee is across the highway (south side) about 100 yards from the road along the trail marked with red ribbons. The disc golf course uses a different trail than the Storm King mountain bike trail that crosses further up the highway.

NOTE: There is a steep endurance trail circuit that runs throughout the course. Please watch for runners and other users when throwing. See hole notes for other tips and alternate tee pad locations.

History

This course showcases some of Central Oregon's steep rocky terrain and celebrates the most influential musical acts since the 1960's. Each decade has several holes dedicated to players' favorite artists. Bring a sticker and add your own favorites or best kept secrets.

Come join us for the monthly general meeting of the Central Oregon Homebrewers Organization (COHO)! We meet the third Wednesday of the month at the Desert Sage (formerly Aspen Ridge) Retirement Community in the second floor great room.

Meetings include education topics and guest speakers, tastings of fermented beverages and snacks. We have a People's Choice tasting for the Club Competition once a quarter.

Meetings start at 6:30pm with social time and club business starts at 7pm.

Come on out and join us, bring some homebrew, mead, cider or other fermented beverage to share. Snacks are always welcome.
