COHO Apple Cider Pressing

For the first time, COHO is holding a group cider pressing and any members who are interested in getting 5 gallons of fresh-pressed juice to make cider are welcome! Jim Brooks will be picking up a load of apples and will be hosting the cider pressing at his place on Saturday, October 13 from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

We need to know how many members are interested, so we know how many apples to get. Here are the details:

• It takes approximately 100 pounds of apples to get 5 gallons of juice
• The apples will cost 30 cents per pound, or $30 for a single batch
• COHO will cover half the cost of the apples, so it's only $15 for members for a single batch
• You'll need to bring your own carboy to Brooks' place Saturday morning
• Be there at 8am to help press apples -- please do not arrive at noon just to pick up the cider. We want this to be a group event!

Please register as soon as possible if you can commit to making cider and can attend on Saturday!

Update: Reigstrations are closed-- we have 1,000 pounds of apples and that should accommodate the current list. Of course, if you want to bring your own apples, please do! :-)
